Serial Cables

DB25 (RS232) Serial
DB25 (RS232) Serial

Category Description: All IBM PC and compatible computers are equipped with serial ports for communicating with external devices. A serial port sends and receives data one bit at a time over one wire. While it takes eight times as long to transfer each byte of data this way in comparison to a parallel port, only a few wires are required. Usually, the serial port is "Full-duplex", meaning it can send and receive data simultaneously. This is possible when there are separate lines; one for transmitting and one for receiving. Some devices support only one way communicationand only have two wires - one for transmitting and one for the signal ground.

DB25 Null Modem
DB25 Null Modem
RoHS Compliant DB25 Null Modem

Category Description: Null modem is a communication method to connect two Data Terminal Equipment devices (DTE's), computer, terminal, printer, etc. directly using a DB-25 (RS-232) serial cable. The original RS-232 standard only defined the connection of DTEs with Data Communications Equipment (DCE's) i.e. modems. With a null modem connection the transmit and receive lines are crosslinked. Depending on the purpose, sometimes also one or more handshake lines are crosslinked. Several wiring layouts are in use because the null modem connection is not covered by a standard.
DB37
DB37
RoHS Compliant DB37

Category Description: Standard interfaces approved by the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) for connecting serial devices. The RS-422 and RS-423 standards are designed to replace the older RS-232 standard because they support higher data rates and greater immunity to electrical interference. All Apple Macintosh computers contain an RS-422 port that can also be used for RS-232C communication. RS-422 supports multipoint connections whereas RS-423 supports only point-to-point connections.
DB9 Null Modem
DB9 Null Modem

Category Description: Connects any RS232 serial device with DTE DB9 to PC with DB9 serial port. The purpose of a null-modem cable is to permit two RS-232 Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) devices to communicate with each other without modems. These null modem cable also allows you to safely transfer files between two computers using its DB9 serial port as well as all RS232 DTE to DTE connections. All cables are UL listed, have matched impedance, PVC jacket, molded ends with thumbscrews and inner hood soldered 360 degrees to the connector for complete end to end shielding.

DB9 Serial Cables
DB9 Serial Cables
RoHS Compliant DB9

Category Description: The DB9 connector is used for a variety of purposes. Two common applications are RS-232/EIA-232 (serial) connections, and a variety of video interfaces on the IBM PC. These cables are fully-wired to support serial printer, mouse, modem, switch, video splitter, mono & multisync video applications. Interchangeable mounting allows you to replace the thumbscrews with included stand-off screws and can be mounted on a face plate. All cables are UL listed, have matched impedance, PVC jacket, molded ends with thumbscrews and inner hood soldered 360 degrees to the connector for complete end to end shielding.

RoHS Compliant DB9 to DB25 Null Modem Cables

Category Description: A null modem cable is an RS-232 serial cable where the transmit and receive lines are crosslinked. In some cables there are also handshake lines crosslinked. In many situations a straight through serial cable is used, together with a null modem adapter. The adapter contains the necessary crosslinks between the signals.
